How do we understand the concept of a last messenger of God?

In Quran, it is said that Prophet Mohammed is the last Messenger of God and no more Messengers will come after that. Then what about Lord Chaitanya and other Acharyas. They are considered to be Messengers of God. Does this point not challenge the authenticity of Quran?
