Spiritual advancement requires servitude towards Krishna and mastery over our senses Dont these two call for opposite attitudes?

We are originally designed to serve the Supreme Lord Krishna which requires an attitude of servitude. At the same time we need to master our senses. These two actions calls for two opposite attitudes. How this can be explained? Does this mean dovetailing the senses in Krishna’s service automatically creates the mastery over senses?
