When Krishna doesn’t recommend roots as items to be offered to him why do we offer him potatoes?

Prabuji, in Bhagavad Gita chapter 9 text 26 , Lord says “If one offers Me with Love and Devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it”. In this verse Lord has specifically mentioned which part of tree we can offer. So my question is Lord has not mentioned that we can offer roots of the tree then why do we offer potato and other roots?
