Why did the Lord make us with the nature to love and serve?

Did Lord created the spirit soul or both are eternal living entity but Lord is supreme…. the question comes further if Lord created the living entity then why he made the nature of living entity to Love & serve him. he could have made such a way t hat living entity gets his happiness from other way. certainly whatever he does his sweet will, does without having envy towards anybody…. then prji kindly clarify the whole concept of living entity in relation to the supreme lord….. as how he is part & parcel of the Lord.. & so on..
